EXPECTED RESULTS

When you work with us you can expect to see positive and sustainable changes in your relationship systems in family and in business.

Family members or partners will participate with a heightened awareness of their impact on the group. Conflict will be reduced significantly.

New systems will be developed and implemented to hold all members of the relationship system in a safe space, while drawing the best from each of them. System members are encouraged to assume each other’s positive intent, thereby creating openings not otherwise available.

Transformation is possible and available through systemic and individual learning from the inside (insight) out.

THE WORK WE DO

At Advantage Family Business Center we work with individuals and with groups: One On One Coaching, Family Group Work and Family Retreats.

Our focus is on relationship systems in the context of family estate and succession issues.

We provide coaching, facilitation, mediation, and training. All of our work is custom designed to meet your needs.

Trustee Coaching: One on One

Are you a Co-Trustee or a Successor Trustee? The duties of a co-trustee or successor trustee can be daunting—especially for the inexperienced trustee. Most family trustees perform this function only once in a lifetime.

A Trustee Coach will help you reduce confusion, create a plan of action, and create a pleasant family experience instead of a stressful, acrimonious nightmare.

AFBC Coaches have broad experience with families and estate settlement issues. They will suggest ways for you to save time, money & heartache as well as help you to handle it legally with fairness and integrity.

One on one coaching can easily be done by phone and email, making responses to your questions direct and timely.

Family Group Work

When parents die, family lands, family home one sibling lives in, ongoing family business, rentals and other difficult to manage or divide assets often bring angst into sibling relationships.

AFBC will work with the whole family, helping to create more effective communication and improved relationship dynamics while working through the estate settlement process. Our work with your group will help you grow stronger bonds with your siblings while taking care of the business of the estate and completing peaceful distribution.

The Family Retreat

A retreat away from your usual world with new scenery, good times, quiet space and a planned, facilitated discussion can be vibrantly restorative to your family relationships.

AFBC will custom design a presentation for your family retreat including:
• Assistance in crafting the family meeting
• Facilitation of the discussion at the meeting

OUR APPROACH

A safe facilitated environment enables everyone to be heard. Each family member counts. Confidentiality is paramount. Assuming positive intent is at the core of our work.

Family members often have widely varying styles, values, goals, and abilities to express themselves. Birth order, old roles, old family ‘tapes’, old hurts can all create difficulty in relationship.

We teach you skills and tools to help you step out of the old way into an aware, respectful co-created relationship. We help you practice these skills while you work through issues that arise naturally.

Most other coaching companies do not address the multiple layers of relationship inherent in both family and business. We address these interrelationships and subsequent dynamics that are not typically found in the every day work world.
